Reverse Photo Challenge: Help Set Hudson & Blake's Mission

Happy August everyone! Blake is our guest coach this month and he has graciously agreed to take on a reverse photo challenge with me. What is a reverse photo challenge? Well, most months we coaches set a photographic challenge for you guys to submit images on a specific theme. In a reverse challenge we turn that on its head and you get to send us on an assignment instead. That’s right, you as a community can challenge us to accomplish some photographic mission and we will each go out and tackle it while creating videos about the process and results. August 2017 — Total Solar Eclipse Primer

This August a total solar eclipse will cross the lower 48 United States for the first time since 1979. It’s a rare event and a unique photographic opportunity. I created this quick video to share some safety tips on photographing and viewing this event along with some tips and thoughts on photographing it with you all in the Plus community.

Long Exposure: My ND Filter 4-Step Process

It’s long exposure month in Plus and long exposure goes hand in hand with neutral density filters. I always carry neutral density filters with me to control shutter speed. Good ones are perfectly neutral and don’t affect the color of your scene. They’re like dark glasses for your camera and just like dark glasses, some are better than others.

Long Exposure Challenge (Win Cash & Filters)

Let’s see your absolute best long exposure image. Update — Personal Note: Baby #2 is Here!

It’s an exciting time in the Henry household! Those of you who’ve been around Plus from the outset might remember that my wife Stacey and I had a little boy we named Pike Henry the winter before last. Well after an amazing first year and a half, Pike is about to have a baby sister literally any second. If I disappear for a few days from the forums or am slow to respond to emails, you know what’s up.
