I’ve had a lot of questions lately about what tools to use when removing distractions in Photo RAW 2018. In this video I show you how and when to effectively use the Perfect Eraser, Clone and Healing brushes to remove distractions from your raw images. I’ll also talk a bit about using these tools with a Wacom tablet and how to maximize your system’s performance when using these tools.

This video has some tips I want to share after observing my workshop students both in the field and editing. I start with some tips for approaching and composing a scene, point out some color editing you should do selectively instead of globally in Develop, discuss when to bracket for HDR, and finally talk about strategies for photographing cloudless landscape scenes.

I’m just back from teaching a really fun Death Valley workshop. In this video I showcase some of the images we created there and delve into how we approached composing and capturing them.
Think of this as approaching a desert scene with a bunch of field and editing trips and tricks rolled into a Death Valley slideshow.
